River Point Tower
Novum worked in a Designer Assist role to engineer the spectacular outward sloping cable wall at the Lobby of the River Point Tower in Chicago, IL. The engineering team at Novum provided a cable wall solution to the design team early in the conceptualization phase and was later contracted for the full package of fabrication and final installation. Structural support consists of stainless steel tension cables spaced at each vertical glass joint and the glazing attaches to the cables with an elegant point supported glass system. The incredibly transparent wall allows for great visibility into the beautiful grounds of nearby River Point Park.
The wall measures approximately 195’-0” wide, with the height varying between 25’-6” and 31’-0”. The wall slopes outward at approximately 7° from vertical. Structural support consists of stainless steel tension cables spaced approximately 7’-0” o.c. at each vertical glass joint as part of Novum’s Tension Cable System. The glazing attaches to the cables via Novum’s Point Supported Glass System.
