What Is An ASG System?
While Novum is better known for its extensive use of structural glazing, applications can occur where the more conventional glass as a cladding with aluminium profile support is technically suited or architecturally desirable.
Why Choose Aluminium Supported Glass
Aluminium profiles are extruded hollow sections and sized to meet load criteria with spans typically under 16’ (5m).
CUSTOM IN APPLICATION
The system can be provided with or without external caps and can be used vertically or inclined. Four-sided support glass is normal, but two-sided is possible with typical panels being trapezoidal or rectangular. Entrances and vestibules are well suited to the system and a large range of door products are available.
FACTORY FINISHED
These profiles are typically anodised, but for higher surface protection, they can be powder coated. Glass can be monolithic, laminated, or insulated in any thickness and many glass coatings and frit patterns are available.
ASSEMBLY
Glass panels are typically designed using finite element analysis to code loadings. Width of profile accommodates a lenient glass fit in the design and field. This system is readily available from many global partners and integrates fully with most Novum Structural Systems.
