About

This Work

Novum was contracted to engineer, furnish and install the Urban Lantern that welcomes visitors to the new Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. The “Lantern” symbolizes a beacon of learning and functions as the main entrance. To achieve the required design within the client’s budget, Novum engineered a structure with hidden bolted connections, which eliminated costly field welding. Point supported glass panels with a vivid yellow custom ceramic frit pattern complete the tower. Softly illuminated at night, the Lantern has become the iconic symbol of the new museum.
