About
This Work
Novum was responsible for designing and installing a stunning envelope solution to the main entrance and Wintergarden at the Genomics Innovator building in Cambridge. The two glazed facades are supported by a mild steel painted structure utilising Novum’s Architecturally Exposed Steel system (AES-system) which incorporates hidden connections of steel where possible and where engineering allows. The Wintergarden roof return is supported on a glulam timber frame which is supported by the Façade steelwork. The Façade and Roof return glazing is supported by way of Novum’s Point Supported Glass system (PSG-System) which gives a generally flush exterior and incorporates stainless steel buttonhead rotules. A smaller rooflight in the Wintergarden roof utilises Novum’s Edge Clamped Glass Toggle System (ECG-T system) supported on the roof glulam timber frame.
