About

This Work

Novum Marine was contracted to engineer, fabricate, supply, and install the Aquadome structures for Royal Caribbean’s Icon Class ships, showcasing exceptional precision and technical expertise. The first dome on Icon of the Seas – spanning over 3,000 m² of structural glazing and cladding panels weighing 135 tonnes – is the largest glass dome ever built for a marine vessel, installed during an 80-hour continuous operation at the Meyer Turku Shipyard in Finland. Designed as both an architectural centrepiece and a functional environment, the Aquadome integrates advanced steel and glass systems engineered for marine durability, optical clarity, and thermal efficiency, exemplifying Novum Marine’s commitment to engineering excellence and execution quality.
