About
This Work
Novum was contracted to engineer, furnish, and install a stunning glass enclosure of the “Wintergarden” at the Simpson & Querrey Biomedical Research Center in Chicago, IL. The glass enclosure is rectangular in plan and measures approximately 116’-8” long, 31’-6” tall, and 44’-0” deep. The enclosure is clad with Novum’s Edge Clamped Glass and Point Supported Glass Systems. The support structure utilises Novum’s Tension Rod and Architecturally Exposed Steel Systems as vertical steel columns, horizontal beams, and trusses with kingposts and tension rod bracing. The Wintergarden creates a bright environment for medical professionals and personnel during long days at the state-of-the-art medical facility.
