About
This Work
Novum was contracted to engineer, furnish and install the structural glass facades of the Ryan Fieldhouse at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Novum worked with the design team early on in the design development to create a solution that would provide a transparent wall system with 7’ tall glass panels, minimal overall system depth for the 30’ spans between building structure and be within the design teams’ budget that was established early in the project. The horizontal steel system made up of Novum AES System HSS members hung from above by Novum Tension Rods. The tension rods end at the first horizontal steel member which leaves the bottom row of nearly 7’ tall glass completely unobstructed for views of Lake Michigan.
