About
This Work
The William Wrigley Jr. Company established a new Innovation Center in Chicago. In the center of the building the client wanted a wintergarden with a large skylight. To maximize transparency, the architect wanted to eliminate all structural support except for the skylight mullions. Novum engineers utilised steel grid post tensioned with tension cables to achieve the impressively large span of 130 ft. for the grid shell structure. The project resulted in a highly successful execution of the first grid shell skylight ever built in the United States.
