Novum was contracted to furnish and install a glass canopy and screen wall at both the Chestnut Street and Delaware Street entrances to the former John Hancock Center in Chicago, IL. Each scope is structurally supported using Novum’s Architecturally Exposed Steel System with painted steel members. The glass is attached to the steel using Novum’s Point Supported Glass System (PSG-System) with stunning stainless steel rotules and painted steel spiders. The screen wall and canopy at the Chestnut Street entrance are each 87’-41/2” long. The canopy is 16’-11” wide and cantilevers from the building. The screen wall begins 6” above ground level, stands approximately 12’-8” tall below the canopy, and is angled slightly away from the building. The screen wall and canopy at the Delaware Street entrance are each 46’-61/8” long. The canopy is 16’-11” wide and also cantilevers from the building. The screen wall begins 6” above ground level, stands approximately 12’-8” tall below the canopy, and is angled slightly away from the building.
