General Mitchell Airport: Baggage Claim Building

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

About

This Work

A dynamic point supported glass canopy welcomes and provides shelter for arriving passengers to the General Mitchell International Airport. The terminal long canopy is of interesting design in that the glass switches from above the main canopy steel to below depending on if the canopy is functioning to shelter roadways or pedestrians as it connects the terminal to the parking and rental car facilities crossing roadways and ground transportation pickup points. To achieve this variation between suspended or supported, the glass is uniformly secured with Novum’s Point Supported Glass System with offset extensions from the purlins.
