About
This Work
Novum assisted the design team to develop the engineering, furnishing, and installing of both the steel support and glazing system for a large curved entrance canopy for the Springfield Clinic building in Springfield, IL. The canopy measures approximately 25’-0” deep, and has a maximum arc length of approximately 100’-0” at the back. The steel support system utilizes Novum’s Architecturally Exposed Steel System (AES-System), consisting of standard rectangular hollow steel sections. The outriggers are straight, while the purlins are curved. The glazing system utilizes Novum’s Point Supported Glass System (PSG-System), with button head rotules and stainless steel glazing arms. The glass panels are segmented to follow the curve of the steel tube purlins, providing an elegant look to the new healthcare facility.
